Osteopathy
An Osteopath looks at your whole spine in relationship to your symptoms and tries to understand and realign your structure. As well as old and new injuries, commonly we correct bad habits. Many people today suffer from spinal or joint symptoms because of the repetitive strains they have developed in their day to day living. For instance , sitting incorrectly at a computer all day, or driving. Often old injuries are to blame for neck or back pains as a person adapts to use their body to protect a weak knee, for instance.
Treatment involves massage, mobilisation of restricted areas of the body, education in how to be aware of using your body correctly, exercises and occasionally manipulation. Personally I always combine my conventional osteopathic approach with cranial osteopathy.
